Plaster Ceiling & Painting
Two trades that finish the room — and that get blamed when something looks off. We treat them as a single discipline, sequenced and inspected together.
The finishes that the eye scans last and longest
Plaster ceiling work is sequenced before electrical second fix and before any wall painting. We pre-mark the position of every downlight, every speaker, and every air-con outlet on the ceiling board itself. The electrician follows the marks; the painter follows the joints.
For paint we use water-based, low-VOC formulas as standard — Nippon Odour-less, Dulux EasyClean, Jotun Lady. If you have a small child, an asthmatic family member, or a young pet, we’ll recommend the kindest sheen and tell you the airing time honestly.
Scope items
- Plaster ceiling panels (gypsum & calcium silicate)
- Cornices & decorative trim
- Recessed cove lighting recesses
- Bulkheads above kitchen islands
- Suspension grid for air-con concealment
- Skim coat on existing brick walls
- Full-house interior repaint
- Exterior masonry paint
- Feature wall colour blocking
- Anti-mould treatment in wet areas
Why our paint days take a day longer than usual
We sand, vacuum, then re-sand. Every wall gets two skim coats and three colour coats — never two on top of one. The extra coat is what stops light from grazing across a wall and showing every roller mark in three months.
